KTM RC390 Review

Here is the all new supersport bike from KTM, the RC 390 ready to set the road on fire. KTM has announced the launch of it’s new bike which is the sport version of the Duke 390.
It has all those techie stuffs similar to the Duke 390. You get the same 1 cylinder,4-stroke water-cooled 373.2 cc engine delivering 43Hp and some as listed:KTMRC390
  • 1-cylinder 4-stroke water-cooled engine
  • 373.2 cc displacement
  • 43HP of Performance
  • Electric starter
  • 6 speed claw shifted transmission
  • Mechanically operated Wet multi-disc clutch
  • Tubular space frame made from steel, powder-coated
  • WP Suspension Up Side Down Fork
  • WP Monoshock shock absorber
  • Disc brake with four-pot brake caliper (Front)
  • Disc brake with one-pot brake caliper, floating brake discs (Rear)
The RC 390 also has the naked frame design as that of the Duke 390. Then where lays the difference!! The RC 390 has a steeper steering head-angle for swift handling and sharper turns. Now, this is where the Duke 390 evolves into a supersport bike. The RC 390 has 66.5osteering head angle as compared to a steering head angle of 65o that of the Duke 390.
Again the distinction comes with the aerodynamic fairing of the RC 390 which is the primary feature of any sports bike.
The Wheel base of RC 390 is reduced to 1340mm from 1367mm that of the Duke 390 for better handling. The RC 390 has a larger ground clearance of 178.5mm than that of Duke 390 which is 170mm. The seat position is also elevated so that the rider can lean forward so as to increase the aerodynamicity. This gives the rider an aggressive feel while riding. Also, the suspensions are more stiffer than the Duke 390.
RC 390 has twin-headlamps and that’s how it is different externally from the Duke 390 and the engine compartment is more covered than the Duke 390.
The fuel-tank capacity of the RC 390 is reduced to 10Liters as compared to 11Liters of Duke 390.
The RC 390 was launched last year in the month of September at a price of Rs 2.05 lakhs.
